Every year my company BoomTown sponsors the iFive:K after party. As a competitive crew, we are always attempting to win the SPIRIT award that is given to the company who shows the most spirit (via social media interaction leading up to the race, attire/costumes the day of the race, race participants, team work, etc.). The prep work always begins well before the race with costume/theme suggestions taken from the entire company and then chosen from said pool of suggestions. This year BoomTown went with a theme of: Running of the Bulls!
Although I thought it might be fun to don a bull costume, after being swallowed whole by one I realized I probably wouldn’t be able to [happily] frolic in one of those for the allotted time period. So, I chose to don the other option, traditional white with orange sash and bandana.
Having (obviously) not taken any photos during the race, I noticed [during the race] that the wonderful Will B. King was gracing this race with his photography presence and I decided to hit him up for some of his awesome photos to post for my readers!
Since running is more of my husband’s cup of tea, he joined this race as well. Although there was a ridiculously fast gentleman that squeaked out the win, Clay came in at 2nd place overall with a time of 16:48.
Typically not a photogenic runner (who is?!?) Clay took a great race photo this time!
As a marvelous end to the evening, BoomTown was successful in taking home the i5:K SPIRIT Award! This is the second year we dominated and took home the coveted award and I do not foresee it as being the last!
