Falls Park on the Reedy

As promised, the second installment of Clay’s Birthday Weekend Extravaganza is here!  In the first installment, you heard about our weekend abode and hiking adventure.  Now, on to Downtown Greenville, SC.  We didn’t spend too much time in Downtown Greenville, but we did get some tasty eats for brunch as well as walk around and visit an awesome park in the city.

Starting the morning off right, we enjoyed some amazing steamed bagel breakfast sandwiches from Sully’s Steamers.  Although the pictures did not do them justice (hence none here), they were some amazing breakfast sandwiches.  I will definitely be going back for more if I find myself in Greenville again!

Next, we took a stroll to Falls Park on the Reedy.  The park contains beautiful waterfalls surrounded by 32 wonderfully manicured acres.  There is also a 355-foot pedestrian bridge that allows for unobstructed views of the waterfalls and parts of the park.

The below view was before we had even arrived at the park.  We were on the sidewalk heading there and this was our first peek at the water.

The views from the bridge were amazing!

Looking over at the side opposite from the waterfalls you can see parts of the park and lush greenery.

No picture of fluffy pup on the bridge, but she was with us!

This beautiful area was near the entrance (that we used) of the park.

It was a lovely (albeit hot) day to venture into (part) of the park.  After a short amount of time we knew fluffy was getting really warm and we needed to head back to the car.  It was time to get on the road so we could stop in Greenwood to view the beautiful topiary displays that are a part of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers.  I’ll be posting some of my favorites soon!
