And finally…we made it to Uptown Greenwood for the South Carolina Festival of Flowers Topiary Display on the final day of Clay’s birthday weekend trip. I am sure this is something he would’ve never chose as a detour to see on a road trip, however, I thought it could be fun to see since it wasn’t too far out of the way on our drive home from Greenville. It also allowed us to mostly drive back roads home that day, which was a nice change in scenery from the interstate. We got to see a lot of small South Carolina towns that we never knew existed as well as some beautiful South Carolina countryside. I would highly recommend taking some back roads, at least for a part of your next road trip! It was a much more enjoyable drive than we normally have and made the day that much more entertaining and fun!
Now, on to the topiary displays! There were a lot, and with my questionable photography skills, that whittled them down a bit! I’ve posted some of my favorites, so, enjoy!
Uptown Greenwood also had Cornflower Daisies everywhere. They were beautiful, so I had to include a snapshot of those!
All in all, it was a great weekend trip. I’m glad we were able to celebrate Clay’s 30th birthday with a fun getaway. Now, I can’t wait to get to Montana and go hiking in Glacier National Park!
