Today marks National Grandparents Day. I would like to wish both of my grandparents as well as any of my readers who are grandparents a happy day today – and every other day of the year! Grandparents are some of the most wonderful people we will get blessed with in our lives and I am blessed to have known all four of mine. Many of my fond memories of childhood come from both sets of my grandparents as we (my sister and I) spent much time with all of them over the years as we grew up.
Growing up my Granny (paternal grandmother) was basically my Home Ec teacher. She taught me how to cook, sew and even gave me my crochet beginnings! My husband owes a lot to my Granny for all of the delicious meals I make him!
As you may have noticed, I haven’t written any new posts in about a month. August was a busy month! In August my hubby and I made a trek out west (be on the lookout for more posts about our trip) and our first stop was Missoula, Montana to visit my Great Aunt Iva. Although she is my Granny’s older sister [90 this year and you would never know it!] she has been like another grandmother to me over the years. One of my favorite places to go is Montana to see her and I am so glad that we were able to make it out there this year and spend some time with her again!
