Every time someone says “Happy Thanksgiving” it makes me think of You’ve Got Mail. The scene where Kathleen Kelly is in line at the grocery store and Joe Fox says “Happy Thanksgiving” to the cashier. When the cashier does not say anything back, he tells her that she is “supposed to say ‘Happy Thanksgiving,’ back.” After he repeats his holiday greeting back to the cashier, she then declares: “Happy Thanksgiving, back.”
I know, it probably isn’t as entertaining to you, unless you have seen this movie about a thousand times like my family and I have. However, if you are looking for a great movie to watch this afternoon [or evening] after your turkey (or Turducken!) induced coma, look no further than the witty banter of You’ve Got Mail.
This year I have many things to be thankful for, one of which is the delicious meal that I will get to savor this afternoon. I am ever thankful for my amazing and supportive husband, my wonderfully fluffy and snuggly pup, and the many blessings my sweet small family enjoys daily. I look forward to another year of blessings abounding and being thankful each and every day for how blessed I truly am to have such a wonderful support system behind me and my aspirations. [More on this to come!] In the meantime though, remember to be thankful for your blessings each and every day, not just on this day of giving thanks. Adopt a life of gratitude. This is one I am learning from blogger Tammy Strobel over at Rowdy Kittens. Tammy posted an article this week and linked to a video by Marie Forleo on how to have a powerful gratitude practice. I plan to start this and I hope you would join me, watch the video and consider it too!
Alright y’all, Happy Thanksgiving, back!
