Minimalistic November

This November I am going to be thankful for what I have and donate those items that I do not need, I am going to dive deeper into clearing out my house and have a minimalistic November. And I would love for you to join me! I have been following The Minimalists blog for about a year now and have been intrigued by their 30-Day Minimalism Game. As you may recall, I have been attempting to follow the KonMari method. And although I have removed an extreme amount of excess from my home, there still seems to be more stuff than I ever use or need lying around. Thus, my minimalistic November!

The basics of the game are that you get rid of the same number of items each day as the date. So, by that rule, on the 30th I will be getting rid of 30 things that day! Luckily, I get to start with 1. By the end of the month I will have gotten rid of 465 items! And although that number sounds extreme at times I am stoked to be getting that many things out of my house!

30 DaysI will most likely not be following the rules exactly as they stand. The idea that each day the items must be out of your home (whether in the garbage, donated or given to someone) is very stressful to me. I do not have the time each and every day to take the items somewhere. I have set my final goal of all 465 items being removed from my home as the 5th of December. (Some may be sooner though!) I do however plan on donating anything that is not worthy of being thrown in the trash.

I plan to document my items each day on Instagram using the hash tag #MinsGame as well as #MinimalisticNovember. I will also try to post some weekly updates here with my progress.

Would you join me on my month of minimalism? The game is best played when you have someone to help support you and keep you accountable to your items each day. Let me know if you would like to join me this coming month and we can get rid of clutter together!
